Sorceress/Woman in Laia Comas’ Haircut Play for the Exponential Fest. Photo by Lee Raymont.
With a performance style recently described as “beautiful and obnoxious” in the Brooklyn Rail, I love performing in comedic, outlandish, over the top, and experimental new works that center people of color. That being said, I was in a Shakespeare ensemble for four years and loved every second of it. You already know that I’ve performed at every outdoor space that’s ever existed, but I’ve also performed indoors in more conventional theater spaces like the Brick Theater, Brooklyn College’s Tow Center, Prime Produce, Columbia University’s Lenfest, the Tank, the Loading Dock, Samuel French’s OOB Festival, the Chain, the Secret Theater, PS Family NY, Wellesley College’s Shakespeare Society/Upstage/Repertory Theater, and even Zoom!
Some favorite recent roles include Connie in Clare Barron’s Dance Nation for Brooklyn College’s MFA program, Sorceress in Laia Comas’ Haircut Play for the Exponential Fest, Jaya in Kanika Asavari Vaish’ Eight Ways for Columbia’s MFA program, and Garbage (yep, you read that right) in Jude Brandt’s Pistachio and the Worms for the DOT’s Public Space Programming Unit. Resume here and headshot here, also YES photos are from different plays, I just keep getting costumed in leopard print (meet me in person and you’ll see why).
