I directed a workshop of Flowers Over the Moon, a musical from 1988 about climate change. I worked with the playwright, producers, and dramaturg to adapt the script to NYC today - both in terms of language, context, and tone. This project took place between August and September 2021, so our rehearsal and workshop process was a hybrid of Zoom and in person at The Tank. As a director, my vision was to turn a dreamy, meandery musical into a fast-paced NYC comedy full of bickering characters while honoring the original script. I enjoyed working with an all POC cast!
